Xtra stuff

Here are a few small-sized linux goodies I thought others might enjoy. I have tested all of them under Slackware 7.0 with KDE 1.1.2.

Alien Converts between archive filetypes, i.e. turns an .rpm unto a .tgz. Very useful on non-RedHat systems.
AXY-FTP 0.5.1 Formerly known as WX_FTP, this GUI FTP client has the look and feel of the Win32 WS-FTP client.
BitchX This is just an executable of the popular console IRC client.
Eterm 0.8.10 Terminal emulation designed for Gnome Enlightemnent, but usable in most other window managers. It's mos appealing feature is transparent backgrounds. This requires installation of the ImLib library.
GAIM 0.10.1 A very nice AOL Instant Messenger client for X-Windows. Supports proxies, sounds, auto-login, etc.
ippl 1.4.10 A simple console network connection monitor. Supports ICMP, TCP, UDP, and logging. Reports dest port, source IP, time, etc. of incoming TCP/IP data.
John the Ripper 1.6 Test the security of your user's passwords.
KcmDHCPd 0.2.0 This program is still in development. It allows easier configuration of DHCP servers.
KNapster 0.13 A Napster client for KDE.
KPacMan Nice little game that you can play while you're waiting for the rest of the stuff you downloaded here to compile.
MTV 1.1.4 MPEG movie player. Supports full-screen, stereo sound and more. The GUI requires registration for full use, but the console app works without registering.
Nmap 2.53 Very well-made portscanner for Linux, debatably the best in existance. Extremely fast and full-featured.
RealPlayer 7.0 Plays mp3s, wavs, and RealServer video/audio streams.
snes9x 1.29 This is a SNES emulator for Linux. Stereo sound, lots of options, 3dfx fullscreen mode, and flawless operation.
ssh 2.3.0 A simple SSH console client for Linux.
TinyProxy 1.3.3 This is a simple http/ftp proxy server. Though WWW_Proxy is a tad more stable, this one does not require installation of extra libraries.
WinRAR 2.71 WinRAR for Linux! Not only are the Windows and Linux versions compatible, but it can also make self-extractors for Linux! (demonstrated as this download is a self extractor)
Xchat 1.5.7 Beta An X-Windows GUI chat client. Easy to use and many features, including perl script support. Works best with the ImLib library.
XMMS 1.2.2 This is a great MP3 player for linux, very similar to Winamp. Great sound quality, playlist support, equilizer, and plugin support.
